I was informed it was Abraham Lincoln who said, "It is better to remain silent and be considered a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt." - ///Don't worry about avoiding temptation. As you grow older, it will avoid you.- Winston Churchill

Aix-en-Provence |
The first two days of this trip I spent in Aix. The home of Cezanne! This is an ancient city which I must study the history of in more detail later! It is a maze of little streets and interesting views. I walked all over the city and up to Cezanne`s Atelier, or workshop. It rained the second night there so I stayed in at the hotel
Don`t worry, I took photos in Aix as well!!
I love the availability of good cafe au lait in France, although, they are calling it cafe creme now!!
One thing you can never get away from is traffic!! Both cities are just teeming with cars - even saw a few Mazarotti and Ferarri in Paris. Generally it is the land of mini-cars!!! :)))

Thoughts on Paris... |
My first trip to Paris was 41 years ago. I stayed in a cheap hotel in Fauberge Montmartre. I had just gotten out of the Navy in Morocco and was out to see some more of the world!
This trip is only for a week and, of course, things have changed some. Euros instead of Francs, and things are more expensive. I am staying in a mans apartment that I found via airb&b.com. It is far from downtown which has forced me to learn the Metro system!
I was here in March the first time, September this time, and the city is still filled with tourists which I had avoided in March. Going from point to point is rather easy as you can walk many places that are visible, And if you have a map or know the layout of the city it is not too difficult. I must have walked a million miles so far!
Today I am resting near home. I fly out tomorrow and will be happy to get back to my car, although all of this walking is good for me!!
When I get home I have more than 360 digital photos to work with! The photos I took 41 years ago were all slides. I probably can not post that many, but I hope you will enjoy the ones I do post!
Downtown Paris, the Champs Elysees, all very interesting, but if you want to see the real Paris come to Crimee!! This is a very mixed neighborhood on the East side! By mixed I mean Black, Arab, Jew, Asian, and White - all seemingly getting along. I have seen some homeless too!
Back home in Michigan tomorrow night! Back to family and King. If you have not been to Paris yet - you should come!! It is quite an experience!!!
