Kentucky state executive official elections, 2019

Суббота, 09 Ноября 2019 г. 15:34 + в цитатник

Earlier this yr, Kentucky lecturers called in sick en masse shutting down every single public faculty in the state. Beshear’s message isn’t about Washington, DC, or Trump, but about Bevin.
Beshear’s father, Steve Beshear, served two 4-yr terms as governor ( from 2007 through 2015). Even as President Barack Obama’s standing in the state tanked, the Beshear name remained in Kentuckians’ good graces. Bevin is leaning into that technique, explicitly. He talks about Trump on the campaign path. Trump is prominently featured in his marketing campaign ads — ads centered on the “risk” of illegal immigration.
In the gubernatorial debates Beshear emphasized Bevin calling lecturers names. His advertisements have been in regards to the opioid crisis and health care. He’s responded to Bevin’s ads about immigration by citing his endorsement from the Fraternal Order of the Police. And that all appears to have Republicans nervous. It’s straightforward to see how this might work.
The Kentucky governor’s race is one of three gubernatorial contests that will serve as key tests of Republican strength forward of the 2020 presidential election. Is Michigan in March Madness campaigned there Monday for the incumbent, Matt Bevin, who’s going through a really tight race on Tuesday against Democrat Andy Beshear, the state’s legal professional common. William Brangham of PBS NewsHour reviews from the Bluegrass State. No Republican Governor of Kentucky has ever been elected to multiple time period, even after the state's constitutional prohibition of governors serving consecutive terms was repealed in 1992.
Incumbent Ryan Quarles (R) defeated Robert Haley Conway (D) and Joshua Gilpin (L) in the basic election for Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture on November 5, 2019. Michael Adams defeated Andrew English, Stephen L. Knipper, and Carl Nett within the Republican primary for Kentucky Secretary of State on May 21, 2019.
Results for other elections are posted on Ballotpedia's election overview pages, as well as the relevant candidate pages. You can discover hyperlinks to the present election overview pages within the "Offices on the ballot" section.
