BLOOD MORTIZED has parted ways with guitarist Benny MobergBLOOD MORTIZED has parted ways with guitarist Benny Moberg |
BLOOD MORTIZED, the Swedish death metal band featuring former AMON AMARTH guitarist Anders Hansson (who played on AMON AMARTH’s first two albums, 1996’s “Sorrow Throughout The Nine Worlds” and 1998’s “Once Sent From The Golden Hall”) and CRYPT OF KERBEROS drummer Mattias Borgh, has parted ways with guitarist Benny Moberg “due to personal matters.” The group states, “This has nothing to do with the band, the material or the current members.
“Benny started BLOOD MORTIZED along with [vocalist] Mattias Parkkila back in 2007 and contributed with some heavy riffs on the early demos and debut album.
“BLOOD MORTIZED will replace Benny for the forthcoming brutal release.
“Benny will continue focusing on writing and producing music and is currently working on mixing BIRCH MOUNTAIN’s future debut album release. As of now in the planning phase is to reinstate the old beast machine MALFEITOR as a brutal, demo sounding, blood’n violence explosion!”
BLOOD MORTIZED’s self-titled debut album was released in April 2009 through Singapore’s Vrykoblast Productions.

Skyforger Will Release A New Album On April 26 |
“Kurbads”, the new album from Latvian pagan metal kings SKYFORGER, is scheduled for release in Europe on April 26 and in North America on May 11 via Metal Blade Records. The CD was recorded at the Latvian studio Lauska with the group’s own bagpipe player, Kaspars Barbals, handling engineering duties. The bandmembers also produced the album themselves to make sure the recording sounds authentic and “100% like SKYFORGER.”
According to a press release, “Kurbads” offers “the typical SKYFORGER fusion of various metal styles, like old-school thrash and heavy metal as well as Latvian folk music, all rounded up with the trademark SKYFORGER sound! The artwork was created by SKYFORGER guitarist Martins and is connected to the story of ‘Kurbads’.”
“Kurbads” track listing:
01. Curse Of The Witch
02. Son Of The Mare
03. The Nine-Headed
04. Bewitched Forest
05. In The Yard Of The Father’s Son
06. The Devilslayer
07. The Stone Sentinel
08. In The Underworld
09. Black Rider
10. The Last Battle
11. Kurbads
The song “In The Underworld” is available for streaming on the band’s MySpace page.
A studio video report, including audio samples and loads of details on the recording of “Kurbads”, can be viewed below.
SKYFORGER have been tempering their music in the smithy of the Thundergod since 1995. For the last decade, the band has been fighting under the flag of Latvian Pagan metal; an extreme blend of traditional Baltic folk music and various metal influences ranging from Norwegian-inspired black metal through to ’80s-rooted heavy metal. The band’s unique combination of ancient and modern influence has given them a wide appeal throughout both the metal and folk scenes, and has brought great variety to their songwriting over the course of the five SKYFORGER albums.
Through the years SKYFORGER has been busy on stages all over Europe. Behind the belt of SKYFORGER are already four European tours, many mini-tours and festival appearances and SKYFORGER is well known for their non-compromising live performances.
SKYFORGER is:
Peter – lead vocals/guitars
Edgars “Zirgs” – bass/vocals
Edgars “Mazais” – drums/percussion
Kaspars – folk instruments/backing vocal
Martins – guitars/backing vocals

“Diamonds in some way refers to that we’re seeing things in a little bigger perspective, or at least we think we do, haha. To me the word sounds majestic in some strange way, and that’s what I like about it too.
“It was a bit dared, but also very natural for us to put ourselves on the cover. That was actually the first thing we greed on concerning the artwork. The idea with us holding the diamond just came to us when we put one and two together.”

D.I.S. – New Band on POWER IT UP ! |
A Message From Power It Up Team:
We can announce our next CD release, we are really happy that we can annouce the CD issue from D.I.S. – Critical Failure CD is coming sometime in may on POWER IT UP.
here are some more information
D.I.S. BIO:
A crushing powerhouse of Swedish influenced D-Beat mixed with ripping metal and thrash, backed by traditionally aggressive punk vocals. This is D.I.S. Bringing together a combined total of over 75 years experience and dedication to the underground through various bands, DIS is an unstoppable bulldozer of heaviness and ferocity.
Mike Fisher – Vocals Bruce Reeves – Guitar Leon del Muerte – Guitar Kent Elmore – Bass Sean Vahle – Drums
DIS Started to take form in 2008 as a new undertaking from Bruce Reeves, a founding member of Grindcore legends Phobia and heavy sludge masters Mange. Parting ways with Phobia after 15 years of grinding, it was time to move in another direction. Enlisting the help of Sean Vahle (Eat The Living) on drums and Mike Fisher (ex-No Warning) on Vocals, song writing began. D.I.S. then invited Kent Elmore, formerly of Mange to join the band on Bass and put the finishing touches on what would become their 2008 demo. Shortly after the demo, long time friend and underground legend Leon del Muerte whose entirely-too-long list of bands include such acts as Exhumed, Intronaut, Phobia, Impaled and Murder Construct was recruited to play guitar. With the line up now secure, D.I.S. were ready to hit the stage in full force. Playing with the likes of The Accused, Naked Aggression, General Surgery, Phobia, Cattle Decapitation, Litmus Green, Lack Of Interest, Bastard Noise, War cry, and Gravehill, D.I.S established themselves as a brutal band that appeals to both the heaviest of metal and punk crowds. Cementing the line up and their unique sound, the end of 2009 brought D.I.S. back into the studio to record their first full length “Critical Failure”. With a release in Spring 2010 through Deep Six (US) and Power It Up (EUR), D.I.S. will be heading across the U.S. in support of their new record. In the works are a few split releases and future plans for a new record in 2011, with a European tour to follow along with other various world dominating activities.

DEATH ANGEL In Studio |
San Francisco Bay Area metal veterans DEATH ANGEL recently entered Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida with producer Jason Suecof (TRIVIUM, AUGUST BURNS RED, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, ALL THAT REMAINS, WHITECHAPEL, DEVILDRIVER) to begin recording their new album for a tentative September release via Nuclear Blast Records.
DEATH ANGEL vocalist Mark Osegueda recently stated about the band’s decision to work with Suecof, “The new material is the most aggressive and technical music we have written in years. So we needed a producer that was capable of unleashing the tones that match and complement the overall vibe of the songs. With Jason’s experience in producing some of the most brutal contemporary metal artists and albums of today, I know we made the right choice! I think the collaboration between the two of us will prove to be venomous and infectious!”
DEATH ANGEL debuted two brand new songs — “River” and “Into The Arms Of Righteous Anger” — during its appearance at last year’s Speedfest, which was held November 28, 2009 in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. The concert marked the group’s first appearance with bassist Damien Sisson (SCARECROW, POTENTIAL THREAT) following the departure of Sammy Diosdado (THE SICK, ALL TIME HIGHS).
DEATH ANGEL’s longtime drummer and original member Andrew Galeon left the band in April 2009 and has since been replaced by Will Carroll, formerly of SCARECROW, OLD GRANDAD and VICIOUS RUMORS.
DEATH ANGEL will team up with Godfathers of Swedish modern metal SOILWORK , Quebec’s tech-death masters AUGURY, Roadrunner Records recording artists MUTINY WITHIN, and pirate-themed thrashers SWASHBUCKLE for a North American tour in July/August.

Regain Records has announced the signing of NECRONAUT |
Regain Records has announced the signing of NECRONAUT, the solo project of former DISMEMBER/CARNAGE drummer Fred Estby.
After more than 20 years in the death metal scene, Estby wanted to express his passion for different kinds of extreme music he’s bore since his youth. In 2008, Estby started to write and record material with the intention of having one unique vocalist for each song. Dubbed NECRONAUT, the project would become a reality one year later when Estby began contacting the many talented metal musicians he had in mind to complete the album of his diabolic dreams. In short, NECRONAUT is a raw slab of old-school metal and while the term “old-school” alone goes a long way in accurately describing the sound that one should expect from Estby and co, NECRONAUT is so much more. The band’s approach is crude and dead simple, a la early BATHORY and VENOM mutated with BLACK SABBATH and IRON MAIDEN, but with an unorthodox bass-heavy production that allows the album to stand out amongst its peers. The goal was primitive brute force, but because of the manner in which Estby chose to achieve it, he also managed to create an aura of pure malevolence that, prior to this album’s creation, was likely difficult to imagine.
Estby is currently finalizing the self-titled album for a late 2010 release. The cover artwork for the CD was designed by Chat Zar, who was reponsible for creating the prosthetic effects for such movies as “The Ring”, “Planet of the Apes” and “Darkman”.
Commented Estby: “The work of this album has been possessing me for the last 12 months and it is turning out exactly as raw, heavy and dirty as I hoped!”
NECRONAUT guest musicians:
Vocalists:
* Chris Reifert (ABSCESS, AUTOPSY)
* Hellbutcher (NIFELHEIM)
* Tompa Lindberg (DISFEAR, LOCK UP)
* Nicke Andersson (IMPERIAL STATE ELECTRIC)
Solo guitarists:
* Tyrant (NIFELHEIM, DAGGER)
* Uffe Cederlund (DISFEAR, ex-ENTOMBED, PRINCIPALS OF EXISTENCE)
* Robert Pehrsson (DEATH BREATH, DUNDERT
