Dennis makes a few points about why he chose Tiger for his video post production workflow. Once the film is shot-matched and given its artistic look (with final approval by the DP), the sequence is prepped for the last steps of post-production. Ongoing feedback makes sure post-production runs as smoothly as possible so time and money are spent effectively. To simplify this phase of the post-production workflow, get mixers to work on specific stems so it’s easier to make changes to the soundtrack. For example, have teams set up for dialogue, music, effects, and other stems you have. So with sound effects work, you’ll have a team working to make sure the dialogue still sounds good with effects mixed in, and another team that makes sure the music doesn’t clash with the effects. Since your M&E tracks include only music and effects, these “extra” sounds will be missing from the dialogue of foreign-language films.
The Importance of Post-Production. Post-production is as essential to film production as turning the camera on and hitting record. Editing, sound mixing, colour grading, special effects and the list goes on and on are as essential as production stage.

Consider how, for example, the server will write to clients while at the same time awaiting messages from them. Each deliverable should be submitted as one PDF in the deliverables folder of your project repository. Your editor should allow, at minimum, editing of ASCII text and should handle linebreaks appropriately. Third, you'll have another chance to work on a team, this time for a slightly more ambituous project, and with some more (self-determined) structure than before.

Even without customization, though, ProseMirror is a nice, minimal, and easy editor for collaboration. Etherpad is a web-based document editor that enables you to collaborate on documents, leave comments, and interact with others using an integrated chat. That’s why it’s important to use tools designed specifically for collaborative editing. In other situations, however, a more collaborative process is not just appropriate, but critical. I am looking forward to diving deep into the algorithm (and of course extending this blog post) and possibly working on an editor which supports it as well.
If you have tried text editors with each of these different styles of undo, it quickly becomes obvious that local undo is what feels normal. To have a great collaborative editor, we need to add cursor reporting and local undo. Sometimes, the server will say, “That is fine, I have not seen any new operations yet, my version is the same as yours.†It will acknowledge your version, you update your document version, and everyone is in sync. And in order to figure that out, the algorithm needs to know if two documents are the same, so we can tell if two operations happened at the same time.
The increasingly standardised beforeinput event has also made this process easier than it used to be. The upcoming syncing of live collaboration would theoretically also make the revision workflow better.
Ultimately, to implement an effective real time collaborative editing system, you need to consider all of these aspects; and we haven't even discussed history, authorization, application level conflict resolution, and many projective video editing and post production other facets. If you want to build peer-to-peer collaboration that does not rely on a central server, take a look into conflict-free replicated data types (CRDTs). CRDTs are newer collaboration methods that fit some specific kinds of text editors really well and they are getting even better. When you transform operations, you can build a text editor that can handle multiple people editing at the same time.
Sometimes Pro Tools will fail to launch because the wrong device is selected as the Current Device under Setup>Playback Engine. When this happens, you will likely see the following error message: â€Pro Tools could not initialize the current playback device.
It works by mandating every shared server resource to have a version or a timestamp or a hash associated with it. When a client reads the server data, it remembers the version associated with it. When it wants to write the new data back to the server, it should increment the version.
It feels so different to being in Google Docs or being isolated because it's where you create your content normally, it's where you work together, it's the user tools. Make sure to make extensive use of runtime annotations, data abstraction and representation invariants. It should be possible for at least three users to be able to work on the same document at once, and the system should allow multiple documents to be active at once. at the same time, and every version is tracked and saved automatically. People can also add comments to the doc as a way of offering feedback without actually editing it.
