After the race, Park Won-jin said through the Korea Association of Athletics Federations, "I regret not being able to achieve a better record," and "I will work harder to break the Korean record (10.07 seconds) and become an athlete who wins on the world stage."
Lee Kyu-hyung (Gyeongsan City Hall) and Ju Ji-myeong (Gyeongju City Hall) tied for second place with 10.334 seconds, the same time down to 1/1000th of a second.
Their official record is 10.34 seconds.
Namadi Joeljin (Gimpo Science and Technology High School), a third-year high school student who holds the Korean high school boys' 100m record (10.36 seconds), competed with his seniors from the professional team and came in fourth with 10.41 seconds.
Namadi Joeljin said, "Although my record was not good, I am satisfied that I made it to the finals of the general division as a high school student."
He added, "I found my shortcomings through this competition, so I will improve them.
I will work harder to become a national representative."
In the men's shot put (5 kg) for those under 18, Park Si-hoon (Geumgo Oh) won the competition with a new record of 21.34 m.
He improved his record of 19m01, which he recorded in 2022, by 2m33.
Park Si-hoon said, "It's a shame that the record isn't as good as I thought, but I'm glad that I was able to break my personal record and the competition record in the 5kg event."
In the men's 110m hurdles final, Kim Kyung-tae (Anyang City Hall) won with 13.72 seconds, beating Kim Joo-ho (Armed Forces Athletic Corps) with 13.93 seconds.
Kim Kyung-tae won five consecutive domestic competitions this year.
