"The legalization of internet gambling will be the hottest federal issue facing Nevada's gaming industry for years to come," said the president of the American Game Association.

 

"The need for a new tax could push for legalization in both chambers of Congress," said AGA President and CEO Frank Fahrenkov.

"Federal lawmakers believe that potential tax revenues from internet gaming could fuel the legislative agenda," Fahrenkov said.

 

"Congress has adopted a pay-as-you-go system," he said. "So any member or senator introducing a cost-effective bill has to show how they're going to pay for it by cutting spending in one place or raising taxes elsewhere.
