Private Tours in Transylvania, Romania

Четверг, 13 Октября 2022 г. 23:22 + в цитатник

It doesn’t have the beautiful graphics of the Eyewitness Travel Guides, but it does the trick. The trip was absolutely phenomenal, no other words to describe it. A hard mountain climb, but full of history and incredible views. If you enjoy hiking and mountain climbing, this transylvania trips is hands down the trip for you. Litochoro was a beautiful little mountain town for getting acquainted with your tour group, before a beautiful hike. The views from the mountain lodge are simply incredible, you can see through the valley right to the ocean on a clear day.
That’s why it’s heavy traffic towards and away from Bucharest, especially during the summer and on the weekends. While driving in Bucharest can be overwhelming for some, most Romanian cities are less busy and should be no issue for an experienced driver. Although most locals understand English, or at least there will be some younger people around willing to help, Romania has many things that are tied to its culture and are hard to understand when you’re a foreigner.

Travelling to Romania during the pandemic (February 2021 & August 2021).Being fully vaccinated and travelling from UK to Romania was easy, just a couple of extra forms and tests. For coming back to London we booked our private tests 3 days ahead of our travels and thereafter booked for London Day 2 private tests. The travelling guidance has been fluid though, always best to check the latestUK Foreign travel advice. The charms of Transylvania entice people with the imagery of haunted forests, medieval towns, vampires, turreted cliff-top castles, and the legends of Dracula. But in addition to its medieval castles and enchanting historic towns, the region also offers dramatic alpine scenery of the Carpathian Mountains with spectacular skiing and undisturbed hiking opportunities. In the heart of Romania, surrounded by Carpathian mountain range is the historical and mythical region of Transylvania.
Stunning countryside all around you in the foothills of the Carpathians. Walking trails through traditional farming and mountain scenery. A visit to the Libearty Sanctuary plus opportunity to see bears in the wild. Entry requirements vary depending on your destination and nationality.

Sibiu, a Saxon town founded about 800 years ago, is probably the most beautiful city in Romania. In 2007 it was designated to be the cultural capital of Europe. This meant a huge investment in the city which enabled it to recover its lost glory.
Turn back time and descend in to the dark ages on this tour of Dracula’s country. Medieval castles stand beside heavily fortified towns frozen in time. From ancient Byzantine churches in one town to Ottoman Mosques in the next you will be charmed by the country so raw and real right in front of you. We spend the whole day exploring this charming town together. This afternoon we discover the medieval parts of Brasov, including the Black Church, Rope Street and the Schei district as part of our guided tour. The following morning I learned more about the history of Sibiu on a 2-hour walking tour.

This is where a good insurance company comes in, as they will cover these expenses, allowing you to enjoy the rest of your holiday. If you intend to wander off on your own and visit Transylvanian highlights outside of the planned itinerary, you might want to get a rental car. It will help you reach your destinations faster and – if you are lucky – you will find a free parking spot in the vicinity and not have to walk too far. On the way, you will pass through Alba Iulia, the original capital of Romania. I strongly advise you to take a break and visit the cobble-stoned citadel, if only for one hour. There is also a cable car, which you will pass by, once you begin your ascend on-foot, on the paved road of the fortress.
The Danube is the second longest river in Europe after the Volga, which flows through central Russia. Classified as an international waterway, the Danube originates in the town of Donaueschingen in the Black Forest of Germany. It then flows southeast for almost 3,000 km passing through four Central European capitals before emptying into the Black Sea.

There are a number of national parks that are popular with locals and tourists alike. Apuseni National Park, Fagaras Mountains, Bucegi Mountains, Piatra Craiului Mountains and National Park, and Retezat National Park are all among the most-visited places to enjoy views above the clouds. For snow sports or other winter activities, be sure to visit Poiana, just outside of Brasov. The best way to get a truly authentic experience is, of course, to make some local friends and get yourself an invite to their home. This may not be feasible if you’re only planning a short visit, though.
Bucharest likes big things – the tour will also stop by the huge Piata Unirii, one of Europe's largest squares, and continue on to the ‘Ceausima’, Bucharest's 12-storey Palace of Parliament. The former dictator ordered the construction of this monster, a building of staggering scale and opulence that includes 1,100 rooms and 4,500 chandeliers. Very good itinerary, lots of walking as you expect to see everything. Excellent guide Dan and driver Boris a well planned holiday. I was a solo traveler on this trip and found the tour and hotels very good. On the way to Brașov, stop at Prejmer for one more fortified church.
Romania is also home to some sweeping landscapes and layered, distinctive cities. On arrival in Bucharest, transfer to the Castle Hotel Daniel (approx 3.5 hour drive). Said break has them hopping aboard a luxury cruise, exclusively for not-so-imaginary creatures, and seeing all kinds of dazzling new sights. (No, we’re not just talking about Drac’s lairy Hawaiian shirts).
