This non-vintage sparkling that exemplifies the approachability of well-crafted Tasmanian Sparkling wine. The cold climate of Tasmania is the perfect climate for crafting outstanding sparkling wines. This blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay shows bright, lively aromatics of nougat, apple and pear on the nose whilst the palate shows delicious creaminess from lees maturation.
Picked early in the season, the variety displays delicate floral aromatics and fine, ripe pear flavours with crisp acidity. Rich, full-bodied, almost exotic wines with moderate acidity result from mid to late season harvests. Many Pinot Gris wines are best enjoyed while young and fresh. Again, the relatively high acidity resulting from the cool climate gives these wines elegance and “crispness" of structure which ensures that they are extremely food-friendly. This is a leaner style Chardonnay, reflecting its Tasmanian provenance, it has juicy lemon and fine white peach fruit notes and mouth-watering acidity. The oak character is restrained, adding light notes of nougat and nuts.
