Терминология |
EP (Extended play). Релиз, содержащий несколько композиций (как правило, без ремиксов). От альбома отличается меньшим числом треков.
RPM (Revolutions per minute). Буквально «число оборотов в минуту». Означает скорость вращения, на которой записана пластинка. Значения RPM включают 33, 45 и очень редко – 78.
Антискольжение. Когда игла находится на вращающейся пластинке, центростремительная сила толкает ее к центру блина. Эта сила может доставить массу неудобств при манипуляциях с пластинкой. Механизм антискольжения вертушки создает противоположно направленную силу, которая не дает игле «скользить» к центру.
Бит. Один удар бочки. Также – последовательность ударов, образующая ритм.
Битмэтчинг. Процесс подбора питча одного трека так, чтобы его темп совпадал с темпом другого. Обычно делается на слух.
Блин. В виниловом проигрывателе – круглая вращающаяся платформа, на которую кладется пластинка.
Бочка. Большой барабан в секции ударных. Именно бочка отвечает за характерную «туцу» в танцевальной музыке. Анатомия звука «туц»: «ту» – это бочка, «ц» – тарелки.
Брейк. Часть композиции, в которой бочка временно исчезает. Как правило, брейк предшествует главной или частной кульминации трека, его «взрыву».
Вертушка. Обычно – проигрыватель пластинок, реже – проигрыватель CD.
Голова (корпус головки). На голову винтами крепится картридж с иглой. Голова, в свою очередь, фиксируется на тонарме гайкой фиксации.
Двойка. Объединение двух квадратов, состоящее из 8 тактов, или 32 битов.
Игла. Алмазная игла, которая снимает колебания с дорожки пластинки. Вставляется в картридж.
Картридж. В виниловом проигрывателе – устройство, которое преобразовывает колебания иглы в дорожке пластинки в электрические импульсы.
Квадрат. Группа из 4 тактов, состоящая, соответственно, из 16 битов.
Кроссфейдер. Горизонтальный ползунок на микшере, который позволяет плавно переводить звук между двумя выбранными каналами.
Лейбл. Бренд или торговая марка, под которой выходят релизы. Как правило, релизы лейбла находятся в рамках одного стиля, а сам лейбл сотрудничает с определенным сегментом исполнителей и продюсеров.
Микс. Последовательность сведенных треков, записанная на носитель. В отличие от сета (живого выступления), микс схож по сути с альбомом и изначально создается с целью дальнейшего тиражирования.
Мониторы. Специальные колонки в непосредственной близости от ди-джея, позволяющие ему слышать («мониторить») звук, идущий на танцпол, без задержек и искажений.
Паровоз. См. Перебитовка.
Перебитовка. Перестук бочек двух треков, которые звучат не бит в бит. На слух воспринимается как «бу-бум, бу-бум, бу-бум».
Питч. Регулятор на профессиональном проигрывателе, позволяющий изменять темп воспроизводимого трека. Вместе с изменением темпа естественным образом меняется и высота тона (pitch); отсюда название.
Релиз. Совокупность треков, выпущенная коммерчески. Примеры релизов – альбом, EP, сингл.
Сведение. Гармонично и естественно звучащее наложение одного трека на другой. Как правило, имеет место в процессе смены композиций.
Сет. Выступление ди-джея, состоящее из последовательности сведенных композиций. В отличие от микса, сет чаще всего означает живое выступление.
Сингл. Релиз, содержащий одну композицию и несколько ремиксов на нее. Танцевальная музыка выпускается в основном в виде синглов.
Скретчинг. Техника турнтаблизма, используемая для извлечения характерных звуков путем возвратно-поступательного перемещения пластинки на виниловом проигрывателе с одновременным манипулированием кроссфейдером микшера. Ну ты понял, да?
Слипмат. Мягкая прокладка из синтетического материала, которая кладется между блином и пластинкой и предназначена для уменьшения трения между ними.
Стробоскоп. Служит для контроля скорости вращения блина. Освещая метки стробоскопии прерывистым светом, стробоскоп создает эффект «застывания» меток на определенных положениях питча.
Такт. В танцевальной музыке размера 4/4 – группа из четырех ударов бочки, имеющая одну сильную долю (первый бит) и три слабые.
Тонарм. В виниловом проигрывателе – полая металлическая трубка, на которую крепится картридж с иглой с одной стороны и противовес с другой. Тонарм может быть прямым или изогнутым в форме буквы S.
Трек. Композиция. Также – дорожка на пластинке или CD.
Турнтаблизм. Искусство манипулирования звуком и создания музыки с использованием проигрывателя пластинок и микшера.
Фейдер. Регулятор ползункового типа (в отличие, например, от вращающейся ручки). Обычно употребляется в применении к ползункам звуковых каналов на микшере.
Хук. Яркий и запоминающийся пассаж, риф или фраза композиции. Обычно короткий, длиной один-два такта. Хук часто содержится в припеве.
Шпиндель (центральный шпиндель, ось). С ним совмещают отверстие пластинки при установке ее на блин.
Яблоко. Наклейка в центральной части пластинки. Обычно содержит информацию о релизе: лейбл, исполнитель, список треков и т.д.
