Kaohsiung is not a very highrise city at all, with Tuntex's huge figure easily seen from many parts of the city.







This is the main train station, although the high speed trains from Taipei don't reach this far. They drop you off about half an hour north of here.











The old railway station sits next door.
























A quick stroll along the side streets reveals how gritty this place is.

Further down the street there was a fairly nice temple.






















































































At this point I thought I'd do a bit more walking and head a few km west to the Love River.











Asia tends to get a lot less graffiti than Europe or North America.


































































































After a long walk in warm weather, Love River is finally in sight!
















Tuntex is visible once again.







Time to stop by a museum.
