Text messaging is a huge business. In 2007, it was estimated to be worth $80 billion dollars and used actively by 1.8 billion people. Although it is an antiquated technology, it doesn't seem to be going away even with the availability of more high-tech forms of communication. In fact, it is even more ubiquitous now.
