Zvi Malnovitzer was born in 1945 to an orthodox family in Bnei Brak, Israel. He studied at the Ponevezh Yeshiva from 1960-1962. At age 13 he was introduced to Yehuda Wallersteiner, an accomplished Israeli artist who became his teacher. Malnovitzer opened himself to the secular world, joined the army, and studied for a year in the Avni School of Art from 1971-1972. In 1977 Malnovitzer decided to enroll in a seminar for artists held in Austria under the auspices of the artist Wolfgang Manner, and the direction of Ernst Fuchs, an exponent of Fantastic Realism. Back in Israel, he was signed by Hadassah Klachkin, the legendary art dealer, and had 2 exhibitions in her Tel Aviv gallery. More exhibitions followed: Munich (1979), New-York (1984), London, Tokyo (1986,1992) and Jerusalem (1999). Since 1987 his paintings have appeared rarely in renowned Auction Houses in Israel, Europe and the United States.
