Ernest Meissonier (1815-1891)

Родился в бедном семействе в 1815 г. в Лионе, очень рано выказал любовь и редкую способность к искусству. Явившись 19 лет от роду в Париж, развивал свой талант копированием картин старинных живописцев в Луврской галерее, преимущественно голландских мастеров, и короткое время учился у Л. Конье, но вообще образовался сам, не подвергшись влиянию ни одного из корифеев тогдашней французской живописи. Похоронен в Пуасси, где был мэром с 1846 года.

    Pavel Zacek, M.D., Ph.D. (born 1959) has decided to go for medicine and became a consultant cardiac surgeon - he has been working at Charles University Hospital in Hradec Kralove for more than 17 years. He kept preserved, however, his "other" life devoted to painting, photography and graphic art. Versatility and genre gaiety is for him a permanent challenge, game and adventure and even a pendant to medical profession (medical illustration, multimedia textbook).  Painting represents Zacek´s utmost inner confession; a way followed since his adolescence.  Technical mastership (multilayered oil and acrylic painting) makes him free to concentrate on the intrinsic artistic communication. Fragments of human history interlace with accumulated personal experience and on their everlasting move they appear in ambiguous and agitating interrelations; nevertheless, they clearly express eternal craving for beauty, happiness and meaning of the way.

Gaylord Ho

   Gaylord Ho was born April 11, 1950, in Hsin-Wu, Taiwan. Born to poor farmers Gaylord spent most of his free time helping, along with his brother, with the chores of scratching out a living on a small rice farm in middle Taiwan. His parents, while certainly not well off financially, were accepting and loving of their children and believed strongly in education. Gaylord was sent off to the public school system as soon as he was of age.

He was not, however, relieved of his duties on the farm and spent many afternoons and holidays wading in the rice paddies pulling weeds and grass, planting rice plants or harvesting the latest crops. Water buffalo was the main farm equipment of the day.

After attending the local school system, Gaylord entered and graduated from the National Taiwan Academy of Arts. His parents were tolerant of his artistic leanings; Gaylord says that his first foray into art was with crayons on his mother’s kitchen wall. They were not, however, convinced that art was a good occupation or a good way to make a living. Gaylord was “called” and would not sway from his goal to be an artist. Gaylord graduated at the top of his class. His student sculptures won the National Sculpture Exhibition. While acclaimed as a student, Gaylord realized that he still had to find a way for his art to provide a living.

    Philippe Guillerm began his professional life in Paris, France, the city where he was born in 1959 and lived for twenty years. Through the years, he has traveled around the world with his wife Jacqueline and theirs two daughters Monique and Swanne on his forty-eight foot sailboat. He has worked on different art projects around the world in places such as the Black Pearl Museum in Tahiti, the International airports in Papeete and New Caledonia, and several yacht clubs and restaurants in Brazil and Australia. He also creates pieces in his most recent studio in Hope, Maine.

"Moonlight Serenade" - визитная карточка Гленна Миллера.


Гленн Миллер (Alton Glenn Miller 1904 – 1944 год) – выдающийся американский музыкант, тромбонист, аранжировщик, руководитель одного из лучших в истории музыки свинговых оркестров (биг-бэндов).
В 1938 году Миллеру удалось собрать собственный оркестр, который через год стал самым популярным биг-бэндом, благодаря регулярным трансляциям из танцевального зала Glen Island Casino на острове Лонг-Айленд (Нью-Йорк) и большому количеству хитов в аранжировках Миллера, Джерри Грэя и Билла Финегена.
На ролике исполняется знаменитая Moonlight Serenade -тема Миллера, ставшая визитной карточкой оркестра, благодаря тому, что именно в аранжировке этой пьесы использовался коронный номер, так называемый "кристал-корус", в котором высокий голос кларнета ведет мелодию, а группа саксофонов вторит ему октавой ниже.
