Jan Steen (1626-1679) is famous for his paintings of everyday domestic scenes. He portrayed partygoers, gamblers, families around the dinner table and carousing pub-goers. Steen produced about 400 paintings, and The Feast of St Nicholas is one of his best known. It can be found in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
