http://yle.fi/blogit/musiikki-tv/MuTV005.wmv - недавнее видеоинтервью. Чтобы не произошло непонимания, публикую для Вас Tuomas: "Dear people of Finland, right here next to me is sitting a person who is an extremely sympathetic and lovely and beautiful and amiable Swede. Her name is Anette."
[Anette laughs]
----
The interviewer: "Tuomas, how is it in the music of Nightwish, do you take into account your new vocalist and start doing music from a completely new perspective, or do you make music the same way you've done before?"
Tuomas: "It's the latter. For example this new album, we had all songs already composed and even recorded -excluding vocals and orchestral parts- before we even had a vocalist. So there'll be no changes in that. There hasn't been and there won't be."
I: "Last Friday we heard for the first time the first single 'Eva' in full.
Does that represent the album coming out this fall as an aural image?"
T: "There isn't a single song on the album that could be picked to represent it as a whole. And that's exactly one of the most wretched things about this whole business: you have to lift one song onto a pedestal. It doesn't make justice to the song or to the whole album. It's a bit like a necessary evil that just has to be done, and for some reason 'Eva' just ended up to be this first single. Maybe because it's the easiest song on the album, and in my opinion also introduces her voice in all its scales pretty well."
I: "What new elements Anette's voice can bring to Nightwish in your opinion? Or Anette's personality overall?"
T: "Umm, first of all it brings in something different. Because Tarja did her job so very well, we definetely didn't want to look for her clone, or to copy what she did. We started with a clean slate to completely new tracks.
I think she has succeeded in singing in a way that makes the songs sound extremely good, she sounds extremely good without sounding like Tarja at all."
[The interviewer asks the question in English]
T: "Well, I have to use a sports cliché: you just have to believe in what you're doing and do your own thing. But there's the truth exactly, you have to stay true to yourself and put the assets you have in use."
I: "What are your assets then, in your opinion? 3-5 of them?"
T: "That certain honesty and genuinity of the band, and humility. We're really humble boys and girls here. We're not going out there with the attitude that we're going to conquer the USA or something. First we made this album, we managed to finish it last Friday and it sounds really good, and... it's good to carry on from here."
I: "The honesty and humility you mentioned is like you're having a PowerPoint show to Anette, like 'This is Nightwish!'"
[everyone laughs]
T: "It's not like... well, we also have appropriate amount of certain indifference because we have such a hullabaloo going on around us and if you let all of that in, that just won't do."
I: "Everyone's been asking Anette how has she been able to keep the secret, but how have you, Tuomas, calmed yourself down during these last few months?"
T: By working. A mindless bustle is the best cure to that."
I: "Actually, before Christmas we had Mr. Jouni Hynynen as a guest here in Musiikki-TV and he claimed to know who your new vocalist was. Did Jouni Hynynen know who your new vocalist was already back then, or was it just Jouni shooting his mouth as usual?"
T: "I think he wouldn't have cared less even if he had known." некоторых частей с финского на английский.
