A. Kofler |
Austria's Andreas Kofler won the Grand-Prix in Einsiedeln (SUI) this evening under, especially in the first round, a bit changing tail-wind conditions. The 22-year-old, who was already in the lead after the first round, showed jumps of 108 m and 110 m for 248.4 points. The second place went to his young teammate Gregor Schlierenzauer with 243.9 points and 106 m and 112 m (longest jump of the day). Local-hero Simon Ammann was the third to land on the podium with a total of 238.7 points (106m/108m). Wolfgang Loitzl (107m/106m; 237.9pts.) as fourth completed the great result of the Austrian team. Adam Malysz (POL) came in fifth today and lost the lead in the overall Summer Grand-Prix ranking to Kofler. With three athletes, namely Anders Bardal, Lars Bystøl and Roar Ljøkelsøy, in the Top 10, the Norwegians presented themself in a much better shape then in Hinterzarten. Young Austrian Mario Innauer, the son of Toni Innauer, had a good debut today with the 18th place. Yong-Jik Choi finished 30th and could score the first points for his team this summer. Swiss Andreas Küttel, who was obviously very motivated to achieve a good result on his home-hill jumped only 98 m and could not make it to the final. Jakub Janda (97.5m), Björn Einar Romøren (100m) and Tommy Ingebrigtsen (92m) also didn't advance to the secound round.
