Instead of Inktober, I spent October trying out different media. Each week I tried something different. This is another one in gouache, and also my last brushtober piece! I'm really happy that I took on this challenge, I feel like I never would have been brave enough to try traditional paint without committing to it in this challenge

Instead of Inktober, I spent October trying out different media. Each week I tried something different. This one was made with gouache which turned out to be my favorite painting medium. It just felt the most like how I work digitally, and could be applied both thick and thin. I really loved it!

Instead of Inktober, I spent this month trying out different media. Each week I tried something different. This one was with arylics which were such a struggle! I quickly discovered that trying to get a nice neutral color scheme in acrylics resulted in muddy colors so I just went full neon and picked the brightest colors I had. I definitely think gouache is more my thing though. What's your favorite paint?

Instead of Inktober, I spent this month trying out different media. Each week I tried something different. This one was made with acrylics which turned out to be the most difficult paint to work with out of all of them! It's just so thick and blobby and hard to blend, and resulted in muddy colors quite often. For me the best way to manage it was using medium to thin the paint, and getting some super bright colors like neon pink instead of trying to blend bright colors on the palette!

Instead of Inktober, I spent this month trying out different media. Each week I tried something different. This one was made with watercolors, which I found super relaxing to paint with! It was almost meditative, and I think it's gonna be my new go-to relaxing saturday afternoon activity.
Instead of Inktober, I spent this month trying out different media. Each week I tried something different. This one was made with a mix of ecoline (a really vivid liquid watercolor) and inks! It was the first time during this challenge that the painting process really 'clicked' for me and I stopped fighting the medium. Also, my brain has been in a state of chaos and rumination ever since this pandemic started, how about you guys?

Instead of Inktober, I spent this month trying out different media. Each week I tried something different. This one is from the first week, where I tried watercolor and gouache combo. They work together pretty well, so I'll probably be painting with these more often in the future!

A painting I did for my second artbook, The Sketchbook of Loish! For one of the chapters, I developed an idea for a story and explored it through sketches and concept art. It was so fun to do, just developing my own idea from scratch.
If youre interested in this book, its available directly through my publisher, where you can get a copy with a signed bookplate! Find it here: shop.3dtotal.com/the-sketchboo&
