There are differing opinions (both good and bad) regarding the Prometheus Class. Decried as a jabroni by our stuffy arthritic purists and absolutely adored to mary-sue levels by the younger middle school pew-pew crowd. But it doesn't change the fact that it has killer looks and a fun amount of weaponry. The design is absolutely bonkers for pre-STO standards. Combining the profiles of the Intrepid and Sovereign to form its sleek dart shaped hull with four (six) nacelles to boot. It also boasts a new take on saucer separation: "Multi Vector Assault Mode". And its brief but notable showcase in Star Trek: Voyager's "Message in a Bottle" back in 1998 left a lasting impression for starship spotters. The ship literally separates to three parts and means serious business.

With all of that said and done, the Prometheus has its fair share of adamant fans within the Trek gaming community. And it absolutely flies in the face of the Roddenberry "I'm so pacifist" exploration riffraff. But our digital shipwrights know better, so the armchair admirals and the over-invested world builders deserve their full size "Deep Space Tactical Vessel".

Naturally, that drives the puritan fandom traditionalists mad, then again that's been par the course for the past 20+ years. Anyway, there's no denying about its aesthetics and charisma though, the Prometheus Class has those in spades. Certainly to be remembered as an avantgarde "je ne sais quoi" designer ship, if there ever was one.
