I'd like for ya'll to finally meet my version of Bowser's late wife: Chai Koopa!

Like the tea she's named after, Chai is calm, gentle, and intelligent. She and Bowser were childhood friends but were separated when she moved away, and only in adulthood did they reunite and spark a romance. She loved Bowser dearly and was his best friend, but sadly passed before she got the chance to be a mother to Jr. Despite Jr. looking almost every bit like his father (outside of his lighter colors), he gets his light brown eyes from his mother. Jr. still does wish he got to meet his birth mom, but it's not all bad; he still has a mother in Peach, and everyone he asks speaks very highly of Chai; it's as if he does know her, in some way, and he appreciates it more than the others know.

FUNFACTS:

-Koopas don't give live birth, they lay eggs. Chai, unfortunately, suffered complications when she was laying Jr's egg: egg-bound is the term. She ultimately couldn't recover from said complications and passed days after.

-Regardless of the slightly different style, Jr.'s ponytail manestyle is inspired by his mother. He often looks at her portrait to make sure it's similar

-Chai absolutely loved tea! Ironically her favorite wasn't Chai tea, but it was instead green tea. Bowser, as a playful tease to his late wife, would request chai tea whenever she asked and when she brought it he'd swoop her into kisses and hugs instead of actually drinking the tea.

-Jr. gets his artistic streak from his mother, who loved to paint!

-Bowser's parents were very much invested into Chai; they thought of her as his perfect match and treated her very well, so they were devastated upon her untimely passing.
