The Superb Fairywrens are a species of small birds that live in the wetter regions of the South-Eastern and Eastern parts of Australia.

The males in the species will sport a brilliant set of black and bright blue feathers along their head, chest, and back in order to attract a mate. The males will then moult in the Autumn where their feathers will take on a more muted color only to return back during the spring.

The females have grey and brown feathers across their bodies with a brown/orange break. The females will be slightly smaller than the males.

They feed mostly on insects that they hunt and seem to prefer hunting on wide open places such as parks or walkways but will also feed on a small amount of seed, flowers and fruit.
