Le chвteau DHallwyl se trouve а Seengen dans le Canton dArgovie а proximitй du Lac d'Hallwyl, il est un des plus beaux chвteaux а douves de Suisse.

Le dйbut du chвteau remonte probablement dйjа au XIиme siиcle, au dйbut sur les deux ilots dont un est dorigine naturel, il y avait des constructions en bois, remplacй en 1200 par des constructions en pierre. La famille de petite noblesse argovienne des De Hallwyl a йtй mentionnй pour la premiиre fois par йcris en 1167 par contre la premiиre mention de leur chвteau est par contre de 1256. On apprend daprиs un document du XIIиme siиcle que les seigneurs de Hallwyl devinrent les ministйriaux des comtes de Lenzburg, ils conservиrent cependant leurs droits sur les terres du Chвteau de Hallwyl, il en fыt de mкme sous les comtes de Kybourg. Avec le temps les De Hallwyl jouir dune grande considйration et par un habile jeu politique, ils rйussirent а rattacher а leur domaine divers fiefs et possessions des Kybourg puis des Habsbourg. Puis en 1369 les 4 fils des Jean 1^er de Hallwyl ont conclu un contrat dhйritage en Indivision ce qui faisait queux et seulement leurs descendants mвles hйriteraient des biens patrimoniaux de la famille incluant bien sыr un dйdommagement pour leurs descendantes fйminines, Tout ceci dans le but dйviter un partage des possessions de la famille. Ce qui a fait quencore au XXиme siиcle le chвteau et la seigneurie йtaient toujours aux mains de la mкme famille. Le chвteau a йtй incendiй а plusieurs reprises au XIVиme siиcle puis il brыla aussi en 1415 lors de la conquкte de lArgovie par les troupes Confйdйrйes. Au XVIIиme siиcle un long litige concernant la successibilitй des descendantes fйminines rongea la fortune de la famille. En 1925 une fondation familiale pour la prйservation du chвteau et crййe et le chвteau de Hallwyl est ouvert au public en 1962 puis il est lйguй au canton dArgovie en 1994.

Das Schloss Hallwyl befindet sich in Seengen im Kanton Aargau in der Nдhe des Hallwilersees und ist eines der schцnsten Wasserschlцsser der Schweiz.

Der Beginn der Burg geht wahrscheinlich auf das 11. Jahrhundert zurьck. Zu Beginn der beiden Inseln, von denen eine natьrlichen Ursprungs ist, gab es Holzkonstruktionen, die 1200 durch Steinkonstruktionen ersetzt wurden. Die Aargauer Adelsfamilie von Hallwyl wurde erstmals 1167 schriftlich erwдhnt, die erste Erwдhnung ihres Schlosses stammt jedoch aus dem Jahr 1256. Aus einem Dokument aus dem 12. Jahrhundert geht hervor, dass die Herren von Hallwyl Ministerialen der Grafen von Lenzburg wurden, sie jedoch erhalten blieben ihre Rechte auf dem Gelдnde des Schlosses von Hallwyl, war es das gleiche unter den Grafen von Kyburg. Im Laufe der Zeit genossen die De Hallwyls groЯe Wertschдtzung und durch geschicktes politisches Spiel gelang es ihnen, verschiedene Lehen und Besitztьmer des Kyburg und dann der Habsburg an ihre Domдne zu knьpfen. Dann schlossen die 4 Sцhne von Johannes I. von Hallwyl 1369 einen Erbvertrag in Individuen, was bedeutete, dass sie und nur ihre mдnnlichen Nachkommen das Erbgut der Familie erben wьrden, einschlieЯlich natьrlich einer Entschдdigung fьr ihre weiblichen Nachkommen. All dies, um dies zu vermeiden eine Aufteilung des Familienbesitzes. Dies bedeutete, dass die Burg und das Herrschaft auch im 20. Jahrhundert noch in den Hдnden derselben Familie waren. Die Burg wurde im 14. Jahrhundert mehrmals niedergebrannt und 1415 wдhrend der Eroberung von Aargau durch die konfцderierten Truppen niedergebrannt. Im 17. Jahrhundert untergrub ein langer Streit um das Recht weiblicher Nachkommen auf das Familienerbe das Familienvermцgen. 1925 wurde eine Familienstiftung zur Erhaltung des Schlosses gegrьndet und das Schloss Hallwyl 1962 der Цffentlichkeit zugдnglich gemacht und 1994 dem Kanton Aargau vermacht.

The Hallwyl Castle is located in Seengen in the Canton of Aargau near the Lake Hallwyl, it is one of the most beautiful moated castles in Switzerland.

The beginning of the castle probably dates back to the 11th century, at the beginning on the two islets, one of which is of natural origin, there were wooden constructions, replaced in 1200 by stone constructions. The Aargau noble family of Von Hallwyl was first mentioned in writing in 1167, however the first mention of their castle is from 1256. We learn from a document from the 12th century that the lords Von Hallwyl became the ministerial of the counts of Lenzburg, they however preserved their rights on the grounds of the Hallwyl Castle, it was the same under the counts of Kyburg. Over time the Von Hallwyls enjoyed great esteem and through skillful political play, they succeeded in attaching to their domain various fiefdoms and possessions of the Kyburg and then of the Habsburgs. Then in 1369 the 4 sons of John I of Hallwyl concluded a contract of inheritance in Undivided which meant that they and only their male descendants would inherit the patrimonial assets of the family including of course compensation for their female descendants, All this in order to avoid a division of their family possessions. This meant that even in the 20th century the castle and the Lordship were still in the hands of the same family. The castle was burnt down several times in the 14th century and then It also burned down in 1415 during the conquest of Aargau by Confederate troops. In the 17th century a long dispute concerning the successibility of female descendants eroded the family's fortune. In 1925 a family foundation for the preservation of the castle was created and Hallwyl Castle was opened to the public in 1962 and then bequeathed to the canton of Aargau in 1994.
