Support Me on Ko-fiQuick art project to just sit and chill after a long week. Working in the medical profession right now is am extremely tiring job so it's nice to just relax with some art.
Now while this week's post should have been the awesome card I did for a good friend for her birthday, I can't post that as I haven't been able to get out to send her birthday box to her because of lockdown. So, while that one waits for the big reveal (probably in a month's time), we have more from Cybertron.
As it's the 35th anniversary of
Transformers: The Movie this year, there'll be a fair few Autobots and Decepticons appearing in my gallery in the coming months. Don't worry, there'll be the usual mix of portraits, animals and fan arts in my trademark hyper-realistic style but animated style stuff is a nice break from everything.
So here we have that little Decepticon sneak, Laserbeak - spying on the Autobots as they make plans to retake their homeland. The 'con was easy to draw so most of this project was spent on the background.
Done with polychromos pencils and built up in layers, utilising my pressure application and layering techniques, the picture consists of 23 colours.
Laserbeak's head was done with light chrome, black, warm grey 3 and warm grey 5.
Its' body was done with scarlet red, black and warm grey 3.
The wings were done with black, warm grey 1, warm grey 4 and warm grey 5.
The legs were done with black and warm grey 5.
The thruster packs were done with white, black, warm grey 2 and warm grey 4.
The inside window sill was done with white, earth green, raw umber, gold ochre, sanguine, Venetian red, warm grey 1, warm grey 3, warm grey 4 and burnt umber.
The outside window sill was done with white, cobalt turquoise, earth green, dark sepia, black, warm grey 1, warm grey 3 and warm grey 4.
The glass reflections were done with white and warm grey 1.
The Cybertronian moon cityscape was done with white, light chrome, cobalt turquoise, dark sepia, raw umber, gold ochre, cold grey 1, cold grey 2, cold grey 3, cold grey 4, cold grey 5 and cold grey 6.
Completion time: 5 hours, 57 minutes
