Its curious name is due to its even more curious head shape, since its head is in its lowest part; The parietosquamous have a shape reminiscent of the wings that the god of Roman mythology called Mercury had on his shoes, and the name of the species is because the find consisted of 2 individuals in both countries, the holotype ROM 64222 and a second specimen UALVP 54559.
