Now it's the time to talk about those Mario & Luigi box art crossovers! I wanted to put this together as I will remember these for the memories for 2020.
Now as to why I wanted to do the Box Art gimmick:
I always wanted to gimmick the Mario & Luigi box art at the time when I seen fan made box arts on this site and twitter when I was younger at the time in the early-mid 2010s. The ones I liked was the Wario & Waluigi box art I seen here and by
Neogandwatch on twitter who did the
DK, Peach & Rosalina, and the Wario & Waluigi 3DS box arts back in 2017. To me, the reason I wanted to do Mario & Luigi box arts but with crossovers is because my brain and creativity has those twists that I really wanted to flesh out ideas of how I want the scenarios Mario & Luigi would meet up with (for example, I loved Dream Team's Box Art where Mario stares at Luigi's dream bubble filled with Luigis everywhere when the Year of Luig was at its prime). That is where in May 2020, I started doing a Mario & Luigi box art crossover with Wallace & Gromit. That's where I started to do more, hence I have to choose one of my favorite franchises within the mix (COD Zombies, Untitied Goose Game, LBP, Tamagotchi, Parappa, M&Ms, Veggietales, and NSR). There are some Mario & Luigi who prefer the Western box art more then it's Japanese Box Art which I'll respect. You'll get more Mario & Luigi box art crossovers next year! Right now I finally got a break to relax on those box art crossover ideas.
Now with Alpha Dream gone bankrupted in October 2019, I'm really sad that most Mario & Luigi fans will have to wait for the next game if Nintendo plans to revive the series. If the Mario & Luigi series is done/finished, this makes me really sad for the series' future. As for someone who gotten into the series since Dream Team (my first Mario & Luigi game), I would say they should've put SuperStar Saga DX on Switch which I would prefer as a better choice, but at the time, they were developed on the 3DS along with BiS Remake (when the 3DS was going to decline in 2019.) Plus Bowser's Inside Story remake sold really poorly (20,000 copies were sold), which I feared they are really hitting with financial issues around the studio. And on October 1, 2019, I was heartbroken about the news that Alpha Dream filed for bankrupt. That was a dark time for Mario & Luigi fans (including myself) when I first heard the news. Now at the time in 2019, I norally do my OCs (Jerry & Zack and Dave & Steve) like being an twitter artist who has OCs and draws them most of the time until I started doing the Mario & Luigi art style imitation in early 2020 (which was all done on mobile). But really, I'll still remember my time playing Dream Team during my younger days in 2013 when AlphaDream was still around. But I'll still miss Alpha Dream to this day which sometimes make me sad hearing the name.
