Karatkab-type Reactive Armor

The Karatkab type Reactive armor is a modernization of an early Dark-Wars era design used by the old Hominid Dominion as a cheap and effective way to add armor value to a unit. The main utility of the armor is its improved synchronization and coordination unit, improved by a simplified version of the technology used in Synapse class units to allow a greater degree of control over an increased number of reactive plates. The main use of the paltes compared to, suy, the hardlight reactive armor emitter system used by modern Hakkorian forces is that the infividucal plates cna be overdesigned and are much-more sturdy on average and more-resistant to wear and interference or energy disruption tactics than hardlight. The armor in of itself is mostly standard in its capabilities and design, being made of solid plates wih articualted, overlapping areas that require increased flexibility. However, there are portions of the armor which are composed of integrated reactive plates, meaning that these areas have the flexible deployable strips instead of solid, larger armor, meaning that the outer plates sometimes have 2 layers of reactive armor instead of just one. The suit itself contains a network of shield emitters and there is soem hardlight reactive tech in ths suit that covers up and replaces damaged or destroyed sections of the armor to an extent. The plates which give this pattern of suit its distinctive look area capable of limited morphic capability, which was much-less advanced or available back during its inception in the Old Dominion. However, thanks to Posthuman materials science advances over the intervening milllennia, the suit's plates cna not only angle or bend themsleves to deflect or dissipate fire batter, but can expand or contract their surface area in roder to be ised as better shields or as offensive shards.

The suit's history as a design concept originated in the Heian sector, when the prolific Shanvius megacorporation was nationalized by the old Dominion to add their resources and facilities to aid the Dominion's war gainst the Forerunner Ecumene. Like all cultures and corporate groups in the Dominion, the Shanvius corp submitted and tested out various designs and permutations of existing military units in order to increase the effectiveness and utility of the Hominid Imperial Army. The Karatkab armor was built as part of a program including mech suits, vehciles and fortifications to find a way to counter the Ecumen's vastly-superior dron production capabilities. The company knew that the primary concern was how the Forerunners could overwhelm Dominion positions with their smaller expendable drones and attack their forces from numerous vectors. So while other research groups focused on working on new and experimental AOE weaponry to counter this, the Shanvius corp opted for a less-costly and unflashy defensive approach, that being detachable reactive plates. The idea was tested successfully, in simulations and on the field, and was greenlit by the Sector's Command and later approved for frontwide production by the Admiralty due to its simple design and relatively low-tech solution that didn't require long complicated manufacturing or maintinence processes. The design and overall concept of the reactive armor plates would be spread and expanded on and modified, such as with lamellar and scale-type plate designs as technology improved, then mostly back to long strips as resources grew scarcer.

This type of armor was valued since like shield bit drones, they could be strapped over existing models without having to worry about fitting or compatibility much. This type of armor was included in the arsenal and schematics library of the Matetholos fleets and many others as they fled the galaxy in accordance to the Contingency Operation 11-02 Snow Forest Oni, following the declaration of the Mantle Co-Prosperity Coalition. In their myriad struggles and wars of survival and expansion in the intergalactic comos and in the satellite galaxy or Sagittarius, the armor and its plate design saw widespread and common use, since the fleets could not afford to waste any othe thei resources, and the simplicity of the design appealed to the nescent posthumasn. In the periods of relative peace and stability between the major wars, the Posthumans incpoved the technology and updated their designs, and after they reunited with the New Hakkorian Empire, they also re-introduced a plathora of technologies, including an improved and modernized iteration of the Karatkab armor.

In terms of equipment, the suit is equipped with antigrav integrated maneuvering gear, strategically-placed hardlight and disruptor field emitters, vambrace add-ons, energized gauntlets, gravitic force-amplification units, hidden helm blasters and micromissile fabricators on the carapace and back, though these are smaller than those on mainline Posthuman armors due to the necessity of armor coverage afforded by the plates. AN additional benefit of this is that the experior plates can move ahead or behind the suit to allow it to fit in tighter spaces. The vambrace pods contain a set of transphase antimatter blasters, disruptor accelerators, retractable penetrator blade emitters, and microcutter phasebeams. The main subcarbine is built around a grav-boosted disruptor-sheathed translight hardlight accelerator, in an armored arc focusing prow which can be used as an emergency melee instrument. Attached are a pair of micromissile fabricators and a pair of secondary weapons, a compact proton ray gun and scatterbeam emitter. The other weapon is a heavy transphase antimatter burst pistol attached to an anteversal combi-blade system arounda disruptor emitter core.
