Description: The Effigia is a small Archosaur genus that lived during the Late Triassic Period in what is now New Mexico in Ghost Ranch Quarry. At first glance, the Effigia has an appearance that strongly resembles an Ornithomimid Dinosaur that would later evolve in the Cretaceous Period, but the Effigia was actually not a Dinosaur at all, it was actually a Pseudosuchian reptile in the Shuvosauridae family, more closely related to reptiles like Sillosuchus and Shuvosaurus, all of which shared similar traits. This animal was first discovered in 1947, but it wasn't officially named until January 2006, this was after fossils of the Effigia were revealed when opening the jackets on fossil rocks to look for new specimens of Coelophysis fossils, after finding the rest of the animal's fossils in the area of the quarry the blocks came from, scientists named it Effigia Okeeffeae, named after the artist Georgia O'Keeffe, who had spent several years at Ghost Ranch at the time. Even with the amount of fossils we have, much about the ecology of the Effigia still remains a mystery, from what we can currently understand, it was a small herbivore in its habitat, most likely preyed upon by the many predators from the same location, but we don't know if it lived in small groups or lived a solitary life.

thezt2roundtable.com/pseudosuc…Personal Thoughts: I have seen this animal in one of my books on prehistoric life, I think this kind of animal would be perfect for a prehistoric zoo's Triassic themed area. This Effigia does look good, but I do have a few issues with it, the only actual glitch is the model flickering whenever it turns, the other issue is not an actual bug, but it moves way too slow for an animal of its size in the game. I think it should have been a lot faster, like the Coelophysis in the Walking With Dinosaurs mod for comparison. Other than that, the modeling and textures look good, and it does breed properly in the game. I do recommend checking this mod out, it adds a great variety of Pseudosuchian reptiles to Zoo Tycoon 2.
My Rating: 8.5/10
