...This is actually a big deal. Like, a dream I've had since I was a kid, finally coming to fruition...unfortunately I've been working so hard that the novelty has worn off. ^^' I'm still proud, though.

So this is Saki, or rather, an avatar I designed for the Saki voicebank in Synthesizer V- have I talked about SynthV at all here yet?? I can't remember...
Well, just in case you don't know, Synthesizer V is software similar to Vocaloid/UTAU, providing synthesized voices that you can use to make songs.

However, this isn't just another gijinka- I ACTUALLY MADE A SONG. This is art I'm going to use in her debut video~

Ever since I got SynthV a couple months ago, and of course, ever since I was a little weeb listening exclusively to Vocaloid music, I've wanted to do something like this...having my own singing avatar, with music I composed just for her...this is the culmination of many dreams and skills, and I almost can't believe I did it.

...Of course, one minor drawback is that (unlike with my English voicebanks...I suppose I'll have to talk about those sometime) I can't really write original songs for her, since her voice is Japanese. I'm not that disappointed, though...as much as I struggle with remixes, I struggle with songwriting more. ^^' It'll be nice to leave the lyrics to other people for a change.

Since she'll be exclusively a cover artist, I'm going to try to focus on giving her her own unique style: very laid-back and cool~. Her voice is a lot lower than that of the typical 'virtual idol' (I actually based it on my own~) and rather than decking her out in a fancy J-pop costume, I opted to make her outfit more or less realistic; something you might see someone wearing on the street.

As for the music...I'm still not skilled enough to say "this is what I'm going for" and just do that consistently. ^^' But the first remix I composed is about the kind of thing I want for her, so I'll try my best to emulate it going forward.

So, where is the song, Doki...? Well...I haven't made the video yet, but I'll be sure to throw a link in a status post as soon as the deed's done. If you're curious, it's a remix of 'White Letter' by GonGoss. I was originally trying to remix a different song, but composing the accompaniment got so frustrating that I settled for White Letter's simpler melody, and it worked like a charm~.
