A Little Loud Princess

Вторник, 10 Ноября 2020 г. 02:37 + в цитатник
On October 30, I finally got to watch the 1995 family drama film A Little Princess, directed by one of my favorite film directors, Alfonso Cuarуn. I ended up loving this film very much, because of how much heart it has and how powerful the message of perseverance was.

If you want my full thoughts on this film, check my review: www.deviantart.com/animationfa…

I knew I couldn't turn down making a parody poster of it. Since "princess" is in the title, it seemed natural for me to figure out which princess characters I can use. In typical fashion, I chose Lola from The Loud House simply because she's the most familiar princess I know of who's a kid and has at least some heart. While drawing Lola out was the easy part, everything else was quite a challenge. The first thing that'll probably be taken note of is the shading. I feel like my shading techniques need some work, but I'm liking my current method, which is using a soft brush and adding the shade on a separate layer so I can erase it without removing any of the original colors. However, one of the biggest challenges was creating the logo on top. I first had to download a transparent image of the logo, and then used a website programmed to identify fonts. When I found a font that was close enough, I googled the font to find sample images that the letters "O", "U", and "D". When I found images that had those letters, I copied them onto Photoshop and tried to edit out all but the desired letter. Once I got my three letters, I tried to blend them in seamlessly into the final logo. Overall, this drawing took around 4-5 hours to make, and I'm happy with the way it turned out, just like my thoughts after watching the film.

Hope you enjoyed this parody poster, and if you haven't, check out A Little Princess, as it really is one of the most wholesome films I've seen to date. Maybe if I'm up for it, I might do parody posters for the other Cuarуn films I've watched.
