We love Arctic Foxes. They are somewhat underappreciated, especially those that don't turn fully white in winter. Since that's the case for most Arctic Foxes in Dutch zoos, you probably understand that many are underappreciated here. They are amost this grey in summer and in winter!

Neverteheless, we really enjoyed seeing this small group of Foxes. Three very different individuals, of which this one is, by lack of better words, "imperfect. A crumpled up ear, a close-up eye... But the look on his face is priceless " title="Heart" />

Species: Arctic or Polar Fox (Poolvos)

Latin name: Vulpes Lagopus

Originates from the Northern Hemisphere.

Current status: Least Concern

Did you know:

&Arctic Foxes shed their white fur in summertime, for a shorter, grey or brown fur coat.

&Their body is generally of a round shape, as to minimize the escape of body heat.

&They use their fluffy tail as a blanket against the cold.
