Something very different than my normal stuff. An opportunity to experiment with Photoshop animation frames and interface design.

Also did some world building for my mercenary character, Charlie. I ended up settling that she comes from an alternate universe, where the Cold War never ended, and technology progressed rapidly due to the discovery of a crashed alien space ship. The current year in this universe is 2001, and it already resembles a cyberpunk dystopia. Charlie is 40 years old at this time.

1960 - The wreckage of an extraterrestrial space ship is discovered in Antarctica.
1970 - Components salvaged from alien wreck prompt rapid advance of technology.
1980 - The Net, a worldwide information network, goes public. It is heavily regulated by governments.
1982 - The first android invented by Sakura Corporation. Androids will become available to everyday citizens within the year.
1985 - Global crime rate increases 400 percent. The trend will continue for decades to come.
1986 - The Soviet Union establishes permanent base on the Moon, effectively ending the Outer Space Treaty.
1987 - Fully automated vehicles commonplace. Phone booths now known as video booths.
1988 - The United States establishes permanent research colony on Mars.
1989 - Food industry revolutionised by synthetic production. Traditional farms made obsolete.
1990 - Japan becomes the world's biggest economy.
1991 - Arcadia, luxury space station, is constructed. Many ultra-wealthy leave Earth behind for this idyllic haven.
1992 - The Soviet Union annexes large parts of Africa and Asia.
1993 - First cybernetic augmentation of a human.
1994 - Nanotechnology has become widespread, in everything from clothing to medicine.
1995 - California and several other western states split from the United States, becoming known as the Free Californian Protectorate.
1996 - Saturn Mining Corporation has established mining colonies throughout the solar system.
1997 - Delta City, California, becomes the first to feature a fully robotic police force.
2000 - Android rebellion on Jupiter Moon Io.
2001 - Current year.
