Inspirado en un estudio sobre la aparente reducciуn de tamaсo en las boas cubanas (Chilabothrus), segъn el cual no es imposible que йstas serpientes hayan alcanzado tamaсos enormes en el Pleistoceno, quizб comparables a la actual pitуn reticulada, lo que les convertirнa en uno de los superpredadores de la isla a falta de grandes mamнferos carnнvoros. El estudio sugiere que los perezosos terrestres podrнan haber sido presa de las boas en el Pleistoceno, aunque quizб no los mбs grandes... aunque tampoco es que las serpientes gigantes sean siempre buenos jueces de lo que pueden y no pueden tragarse.
Tambiйn inspirado en el hecho de que las boas cubanas llegan a cazar de forma aparentemente cooperativa, bloqueandole el paso a las presas de modo que no tengan suficiente espacio para escapar.

Inspired by a study about the apparent reduction in size underwent by Cuban boas (Chilabothrus), according to which it is not impossible that these snakes reached huge sizes in the Pleistocene, perhaps even comparable to today's reticulated python, which would make them one of the island's apex predators, lacking as it did large carnivorous mammals.
The study suggests small ground sloths may have been prey to the giant boas, although maybe not the bigger ones... but really, giant constrictors are not always good judges of what they can and cannot ultimately swallow.
Also inspired by the fact that Cuban boas are known to hunt cooperatively, blocking prey's routes of escape to increase the individual's chance of catching them.
