Aura the Twi'lek and Lt. T'Von are joined near Aura's workshop by Lt jg Kina Deir accompanied by the R5 droid. Aura shows the two Starfleet officers something that she has been repairing. My OCs by

"This is our best mode of transportation around our planet.." Aura says proudly. "It is a Speeder Bike! They are common planetary patrol vehicles used by Imperial troops. I built two of this type and three others of a simpler design."
T'Von and Kina examine the vehicle curiously. The design is simple but very innovative. The bike uses thrusters and anti-gravitational technology.
"Wow!" Kina says, very impressed by its simplicity and ruggedness. "You built this? It's looks so cool!"
Aura smiles widely at Kina's interest in the speeder.
"I made them from parts that were aboard the transport ship we were on...' Aura explains. "We found components for six of them in the cargo hold after we crashed. Most of the parts were damaged but I found enough had survived to build these two. The others were built from leftover parts and from components from the ship itself... like the moisture harvesters."
T'Von arches her eyebrow at Aura's explanation, like Kina, she is impressed with the Twi'lek's ingenuity and resourcefulness.
"Very impressive, Aura..." T'Von says as she scans the speeder with her Tricorder. "You have done remarkable things with the materials on hand."
Aura nods slightly in agreement as her smile fades. She motions over to the DUM repair droid who then starts removing a panel from the rear of the vehicle.
"Thanks, both of you, but like everything else around here, this thing keeps breaking down..." Aura says sadly. "This one doesn't run right now and I doubt if I can get it started again... no parts."
T'Von glances over her scans of the speeder and spots the probable cause for the malfunction.
"There is a hairline crack in what appears to be the intake manifold..." T'Von reports. "I believe that I can make a temporary repair of it by utilising my phaser on a lower setting.. allow me..."
Aura smiles and steps aside motioning again to the DUM droid to remove the rest of the outer casing near the manifold. After a few moments, the droid has the casing off exposing the damaged component. T'Von takes her phaser and adjusts the setting. She then takes aim and fires, using the low setting as a welding torch and after a few minutes, the repair is finished.
"I am finished..." T'Von says. " I believe that this repair will hold for a while but a replacement part is still necessary. I know that something suitable can be found or made on our ship."
Aura nods and steps over to the speeder, starting it. After a second, the vehicle roars to life.
"Thanks again for your help lieutenant..." Aura says happily. "I truly hope that your admiral will allow your ship to help us with parts."
"I believe she will..." Kina says convincingly. "Your people meet the requirements for us to render aid."
Aura smiles warmly as she and the DUM droid begin to put the casing and outer panel back in place on the speeder...
"I hope you're right..." Aura says "Hey, do you want to ride one? I can teach you... both of you!"
Kina smiles widely, her youthful excitement can be read on her face...
"Oh heck yeah I want to!"
