The book came out on amazon very recently and someone was kind enough to gift it to me (Thank you lisa! sob!!) I HIGHLY recommend it to SU fans, its so much fun!! You can get it on amazon linked above (or possibly your local bookstore!) In the book there are Bio pages for all the gems, so I went and whipped up a PSD version of it to make bio sheets for my own gemsonas and fusions... and thought it'd be fun to share?
RULES:
1. PLEASE LINK BACK TO THIS DEVIATION IF YOU USE IT! So other people can find it and do it for their gemsonas/characters too!! Fun for everyone!!!
2. PHOTOSHOP IS NECESSARY. SAI is an OK alternative. I made this in PS7 and had it tested in CS6 too It should work on any version of photoshop 7 or later. You CAN open this in SAI, however the text layers will be rasterized. You can handwrite your answers if you prefer and/or don't have access to photoshop, or type them onto the image afterwards using some other means.
3. BASIC PHOTOSHOP KNOWLEDGE IS NECESSARY. Please read the descriptions below for tips on how to use this PSD before asking me questions!! I'll do my best to help but I don't have time to be a 24/7 help desk unfortunately!
HOW TO USE THIS PSD:
- Experiment until you like it.
- If it asks you to update layers for vector based output, clicking yes is fine and shouldn't mess up anything.
- The info box font is
Courier New. I picked it because it's pretty default on a lot of computers, but you can change it if you want.
- The header font is
Crewniverse 2.0 by MaxiGamer. You need to download, unzip, and install (right click the font file > install) this font before opening photoshop. If you open the psd without installing this file it'll just substitute that font for another one. (This font is missing some special symbols/characters, jsyk.)
- Feel free to expand the text box or move the text box around slightly to fit all your text on the bio box. Try to keep answers sweet and to the point!
- Paste your *transparent PNG* OC image layer around where the "YOUR OC HERE" layer is so it's on top of everything. Move as desired.
- I recommend turning layers off and working from the background layer up, or at least toggle layers to see what they do and what mode they're set to etc. The color of the two BG layers at the bottom will be effected by the layers above.
- The folder "Background Pieces" is currently set to layer mode
overlay. You can change this mode to your liking for the color effect you want- you can also change the color of the 4 beams of light in that folder to your liking just with the hue/saturation bar/Ctrl+U.
- You can change the colors of any of the layers you want or add to it or toggle them off or whatever you like. Some are locked to color on without going outside the shape (you can also use Ctrl+U), but you can unlock those if need be. You may need to lower opacity of some layers for a desired effect- experiment!
- If you want to change the color of the text info prompts (default here is purple), you have to just select the text you wanna change and colorpick it.
- To change the drop shadow of your gem's name and optional url, you need to double click the "Name Here!" or "your url here" layer to open the Layer Style window.
