I spent some time reflecting on my life, from the dysfunctional family of my childhood to my current career as an artist, and how this path has shaped me.
I guess part of my recovery is just taking in my life experiences, my emotions, the happiness and the pain, and turn them into art. And through the process, I learn and understand just a little bit more about myself and the world around me.
Art has always been a powerful outlet that helped me and others communicate our ideas and emotions. For all the aspiring and young artists out there, don't let anyone discourage you. Be it random strangers on the internet or your own parents, no one knows you better than yourself, and no one lives your life except yourself. So don't ever let anyone take that away from you, your emotions, your art, your sense of self.
Draw for yourself, create for yourself, live for yourself.
Character: Medusa from Marvel's Inhumans Costume made/modeled by Yaya Han Photography by: Brian Boling
When I was asked to be a part of Marvel's Cosplay Covers project, I quickly started looking at alternatives to bodysuit based superhero costumes, since I knew the shoot would be taking place in June, in Hotlanta, and also for variety's sake for the covers. Medusa wears regal, beautiful gowns sometimes, and I thought it would look great with her big hair, so I combined elements from different illustrations and created my own interpretation of the character.

First drawing of 2016! Celebrations are over so it's time to go back to work I decided to draw something simple to warm up - this is Ariel in a cup all happy singing 'Part of Your World' xD I had this idea floating around since I drew a small mermaid in a cup during last year's Inktober Ofc I had to squeeze in a small ship into this picture... maybe I should have added microscopic Eric as well ORZ XD I added a fork because it's such an iconic item from this animation XD I hope you are all doing well
(OK, yes, I know we're 10 days into 2016, but I had a massive Christmas hangover and am still trying to get in gear for 2016)
Anyway, these are my first pieces for the new year They should have been resin pieces, but I ran out of resin and then accidentally ordered a box of green instead of clear. I decided to make a few Valentiney ones as well in preparation for February There's steampunk ones, ocean ones and magic ones!

Etsy commission Design is copyrighted by owner. Original Ref:
Fell Damarras was definitely a whole new concept and challenge. The commissioner came to me with the idea of an open ribcage and I was so excited to try it out. She provided the heart, which is an incredible looking rough opal. The horns and ribs were made with instamorph plastic and the stripes were all hand dyed. I was pretty happy with my attempt to make such a unique character design, even though the proportions are a little off. It was a completely new technique so I misjudged some of the sizes for his body, and having a bare chest left little room for error.
What is a Room Guardian??
Room Guardians are small creatures that protect one's home from negative spirits and energies. These friends can be easily placed on window sills, kitchen shelves, dressers, or wherever to keep watch over the room. Each guardian has a soft faux fur coat and each is individually sculpted from the wire frame to the clay face and hands, so no two are alike. Room Guardians are not plush, they have a solid body but their arms, tails, and necks are bendable and Inside each of their chests is a unique crystal heart to give each one a different energy. These little guys have a lot of character and they love having a home to watch over.
