I just finished Solid Snake as part of the Monthly Projects over on my Patreon. We're doing a big collab of video game characters.

While drawing I was listening to the track Metal Gear Saga from the MGS4 soundtrack, it reeeeally got me in the mood, such a great song.

I hope you like it, I tried rendering in the classic MGS art style which is kind of a watercolor theme. Nice to try something new.

Which Metal Gear Solid game is your favorite?
Mine would have to be 4. That microwave scene was brutal and the end fight is one of the best and epic fights in any game!

No Northvember is an anual challenge I hold on Instagram. Much like Inktober, there's a drawing prompt for each day of November, No North themed. Whoever managed to complete the 30 days, won a prize!

So here's for day 17, Burden. I thought Baltazar truly fit this prompt. He carries his family's heavy legacy on his shoulders, and his whole destiny had been written before he was even born. The fact that he lost his parents at a young age have contributed to his wish to maintain their legacy alive. But sometimes that burden gets heavy. Baltazar has experienced a very raw kind of loneliness throughout his whole life.

Every Chinese New Year I wonder if it's a time of celebration or time of mourning. Some years I'm able to be happy and grow nostalgic about the past, about the country I was born in, about the place where half of my family still reside. Other years I just want to forget.

I'm an adult now, but when I think of my homeland, I feel like a lost child again. I can't help but wonder what life would have been like had my mother not left for America, had my parents not split apart, had mother and father not replace me with their new families.
