For the 2020 edition of its flagship annual creative event in Toronto, design and technology event producer FITC engaged design-driven production company Sarofsky to create an epic main title piece. With the event's postponement, both companies forged a new strategy to share their powerful cinematic experience, entitled "What You May Find." Set to a new rendition of the classic hit "In The Year 2525," this rich, iconic animation offers a stark vision of "what we may find," ending with a ray of hope.

The Moscow-based creative design studio Superdesigners just released their latest passion project “Letter, Lotus and Legend”, a four-month odyssey into the creative process that weaves “the martial grace of the samurai with the textures and fabrics of a hi-tech clothing brand.” The result is a stunning 3D video of what could be the textures & fabrics trend directions for a hi-tech clothing company.

“Martial arts have always been a breath of fresh air for western culture. Starting with the first American film adaptations about the samurai, a unified philosophy of perfecting one’s mind and spirit has been accreting additional cultural layers without losing its distinct archaic character.

We decided to distill this cluster of meaning into striking choreography familiar from films, enrobing it in eclectic technological shapes.

This piece is about how incessant contradiction and conflict within our psyche lead to feelings of dismay; these feelings are then inevitably expressed through violence and struggle, so that a fragile balance may once again be restored.”

Russian designer Slava Vovk shared his latest branding work made for NORR. It is a producer of canned seafood from Sweden, 100% natural product from the north, nothing more and nothing less. The assortment consists of large and small species of marine fish, as well as delicacies, delicious mollusks and crabs.

"NORR" in Swedish means "north", the name sets the atmosphere of minimalism, as a guide for the design of the entire packaging line.

The design and materials of the outer and inner packaging interact in contrasts. Bright outside, like a variety of marine fauna, and white inside, like frosty northern nature.

Still Life is defined through a set of recovered broken screens of mobile phones as a reflection of the modes of production and consumption of contemporary society, where, with its accumulation and linear disposition represents a recontextualization of a consumer article when it has already fulfilled its mission and it is obsolete, useless and far from a production system, establishing a new meaning based on a narrative based on the imposing physicality of a set of broken mobile screens in front of a dematerialized society and the oppression of the digital environment and capitalism on the human being, in addition to the almost absolute and vital dependence on the daily experience of our own community.

Jorge Isla (Huesca, 1992) is a visual artist based in Bilbao, Basque Country, Spain. Since 2015, his artist practice focuses on observing and analyzing the reality and of the modes of production and consumption of contemporary society. Alexis Christodoulou, a self-taught 3D artist living in Cape Town, South Africa has spent the last 6 years building a collection of works focusing on imaginary architecture. While working professionally as a copywriter for the last decade, Alexis taught himself 3D rendering as a hobby.

From a lifelong fascination of digital worlds and 3D graphics from playing video games a boy, Alexis became frustrated with the lack of modern aesthetics represented therein. “Logos” is a computational and mathematical package used for modelling physical processes in aviation and automotive industries, nuclear power, rocket and space industry. This is the first digital product presented by Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation, the Russian Federal Nuclear Center and the All-Russian Research Institute of Experimental Physics.

“Logos” identity is a modern fresh twist on Russian design, with all its history and well-established principles. It represents a cult-like dry technical design and emotional Russian soul, it is function multiplied by feeling, a geek engineer who found the meaning of life in formulas.

Visual language techniques were borrowed from technical design. The aesthetics of simple layouts, infographics, technical fonts, and procedural design are reflected in the corporate font, iconography, and layout principles. A signature element is a heat map that reflects the idea of a function and brings color and emotion into the dry technical design. It gives us the opportunity to look at the product through the eyes of an engineer, as well as it reflects the objectives of the product that are modeling of physical processes.
