The ruins of a religious centre in the village of St Dogmaels, near Cardigan in Pembrokeshsire. It was founded as a priory by the Normans around 1113 for 13 monks of the Tironensian order. It was upgraded to an abbey in 1120 and over several centuries gradually expanded, with the addition of a number of monastic buildings. It was dissolved in 1536, as part of Henry VIII's Suppression of Religious Houses Act.
