The Basilica Madonna di Tirano is located in the picturesque city of Tirano, in the province of Sondrio, Italy, close to the border with Switzerland. Built on the place where, according to legend, Our Lady appeared to Blessed M'ario Omodei in the early hours of September 29 1504, this splendid sanctuary is not only a place of worship, but also an architectural masterpiece from the 16th centuries. and XVII, which attracts tourists from all over the world. The basilica is famous for its stunning Baroque style and intricate frescoes, which depict scenes of the Virgin Mary and various saints. Exuberantly rich in stucco and sculptures, baroque and painted panels, with a colossal organ inside, a precious carved work begun in 1608 by Giuseppe Bulgarini of Brescia and completed in 1638 by G.B. Salmoiraghi. Due to its geographical position, it has always been a destination for believers from all over Europe. Gap Creek Falls are in Watagans National Park, west of Lake Macquarie.  The falls used to be known as Brownes Falls until about 20 Years ago - named after the family who owned a sawmill at Martinsville.  Geologically the falls occur on the lower section of the Narrabeen Subgroup, which comprises Triassic sandstones, siltstones and claystones.  This panorama was taken with a 21mm rectilinear lens to allow use of a circular polarising filter.  A counterpart taken with a fisheye (and consequently no polariser) can ve viewed here.
