The Rh^one River is born in the Rh^one Glacier, that we can see in these panorama, on the eastern end of the canton Valais powered by alpine glaciers of the central Alps. With a length of 812 km bathes the Switzerland and France and flows into the Mediterranean Sea near Marseille where it forms a large delta. In the 1960s, the bed of the Rh^one has undergone renovations that transformed the river into a navigable and extensive source of hydroelectric power area. Navigable from Le Parc, but it is from Lyon to Arles which has an intense shipping traffic. Through the Sa^one River, its largest tributary, the navigation of the Rhone can join through channels, the Loire, Seine, Rhine and Moselle rivers. Nowadays the Rh^one Valley is the second most extensive vineyard producer of fine wines from France. It is almost unbelievable that in 1856 the Rh^one Glacier stretched to the location where this panorama was photographed.

The Rh^one glacier is located in the extreme north of the canton of Valais in Switzerland and gives rise to the Rh^one River, which flows in the Conches valley and crosses Lake L'eman in Geneve and then flows into the Mediterranean Sea near Marseille. It is almost unbelievable that in 1856 the Rhone glacier reached the place where this panorama was photographed near the Glacier du Rh^one hotel.

Panorama photographed at Gletsch Station showing the steam train. The Glacier Express made the Gletsch station one of the most famous in the world between 1930 and 1981. Since the opening of the Furka tunnel, the friends of the railway have steadfastly strived to ensure that Furka's mountain route would not be dismantled. In the summer of 2010, the steam train was re-established, making the route Realp, in the Canton of Uri, and Oberwald, in the Canton of Valais and, once again, the Gletsch station is once again very busy, making it easy to discover this beautiful region. The Furka steam train runs from June to October.

Red Pass is accessible from an abandoned section of the Cascade Crest Trail near Snoqualmie Pass. This ridge crest viewpoint at 5,400 feet provides a view of the spike-shaped Mt. Thomson to the north, Red Mountain to the east, and Lundin Peak to the west. Wildfire smoke creates a haze that obscures sunlight and distant vistas.
