Aptly named Twin Lakes are paired in a large cirque in the Wyoming Beartooth Mountains near the top of Beartooth Pass. The lakes are nestled together at an elevation of 9,750' (2,972m) If one uses the pullouts along the Beartooth Highway (an All American Highway) one can get a glimpse of Twin Lakes from the cliff approximately 900' (274m) bwlow. A hike down to the lakes offers opportunities for fishing but the hike back to the parking area in the thin air of 10,350' (3,155m) can be grueling.
