The boulder weighs about 100,000 kilograms and the child weighs about 30 kilograms. Burbank Boulder resides in Wompatuck State Park in Hingham, Massachusetts. It is delicately perched on an outcrop of bedrock. The boulder is a geologic gift, left behind by the glacier, as it retreated north through New England thousands of years ago. Viewers are directed to an interesting paper on this subject, "Distributed Evidence: Mapping Named Erratics," by Jane Hutton appearing in Making The Geologic Now, Punctum Books, 2012.

The castle of Santa Maria da Feira is one of the most notable Portuguese monuments for the diversity of defensive resources used between the centuries. XI and XVI and that makes it a unique piece of Portuguese military architecture. In the century. XI- XII time of the Christian reconquest, the castle is built on a former Roman castrum, and only the ground floor of the maintenance tower and the shape of the liquorice remain. In 1128 this castle is the scene of the revolt of D. Afonso Henriques against D. Teresa, his mother. In the century. 14 the walled fence is reconstructed, of which only the route will remain. In the second half of the century. 15 the castle undergoes a major renovation and expansion. It was at this time that the mayor's first palace was built. It is the adaptation of the castle to war with weapons of fire.

The nationalist commemorations of the 3rd centenary of the death of Cam~oes in 1880 and later the commemoration of the discovery of the Maritime Way to India (1498-1898) boosted the birth of the Neomanueline style. Inspired by the historical past and by the Manueline style artistic icons, based on the exponential works Mosteiro dos Jer'onimos and Torre de Bel'em, this revivalism arises in the late-end of the century. The Italian set designer Luigi Manini was indebted for the most representative examples of this style. The Palace-hotel do Bucaco, 1888 and the Quinta da Regaleira in Sintra, 1905 are both exemplary works of the style and the author, arrived in Portugal already in 1878.

From a very early age, this somewhat mysterious and magical environment impressed me. The Pal'acio do Bucaco is an outstanding work of art, along with the various buildings that compose it. Within the theme of revivalist styles from the time of romanticism, the Palacio do Bucaco has (in my view) a sculptural quality and a richer composition than that of the Germanic schloss style of the Pena Palace. The forest and its paths always left me confused, more like a labyrinth, with very little interpretation in the place. But when searching, I understood better why its configuration. The fact is that this Way of the Cross, in addition to being composed of 20 steps that tell of Jesus 'imprisonment and passion in Jerusalem, it is built on the scale of Jesus' martyrdom itinerary, which makes it unique. Hence the sinuosity of its path. Here is a lovely day, with a mix of walking and exploration, and several visits.

Two trashed vehicles lie down an enbankment off a BLM outside of Glendale, Oregon. Vehicle on right looks like a red jeep while the white vehicle on left still had a remaining Oregon license plate, which I was able to look up & identify as a 1981 Ford Fairmont wagon, assembled in Kansas City, Missouri. This road is an absolute dumping ground for trash & other junk vehicles.
