The Almeda Fire has made world headlines as it began in Ashland, Oregon on September 8, 2020 & ravaged the nearby towns of Phoenix & Talent, driven by high winds & low humidity.  This is one neighborhood that was scorched as seen five days after the burn.  It has been a long work week dealing with local residents as well as unwanted looters.  Idiots who need to be shot have also been caught trying to intentionally start new fires.  Another costly fire, the South Obenchain Fire, is burning the north end of our valley.  I personally had been on level 3 evacuation for two days w/ the fire line coming within 300 feet of my house before firefighters got it contained.  But I know several friends who lost everything.  Entire county even if nowhere near fires is on level 1 evacuation at current moment.  Worst air quality, though most of the foggy skies I believe are from the massive Slater Fire burning southwest of here.  Entire West Coast is on flames from mega-size fires.  This location I am keeping unmarked, yet we were called here to trash-water pump out a nearby sooty swimming pool as part of the recovery search for bodies.  With over 50 people unaccounted for, they may have fled & not reported in or may have perished in the fire.  Fortunately this swimming pool didn't reveal any human remains.  Bulldozers & haz-mat personnel elsewhere in neighborhood.
