The Lookout Rock fire lookout sits on a rocky ridge that leads up Gearhart Mountain near Bly, Oregon.  Construction of a lookout tower here began in 1932 w/ the site formerly a crows nest.

The Chief Schonchin Cemetery is a historical cemetery located near Beatty, Oregon this is home to a number of Modoc Indian graves & relatives.  Among them are these graves of John Tazewell Riddle & his wife Winema Modoc Heroine, peace interpreters during the war.  Behind them is the grave of Sconchin.  Being Memorial Day, there happened to be a few relatives I met who were descendants of the Sconchin family.

Admiral Claude Cumberlege and his wife Nora moved to Mallorca in the late 50's and after a few months on the island bought this old colonial residence. After he passed away Nora added the swimming pool, a bar and terraces and opened to guests in 1964. The Sea Club soon attracted a fun-loving, young, London set including Sean Connery and Michael Caine. The reputation quickly grew and the setting has changed little over the years, an oasis of calm with a relaxed style.

The ancient harbour and town of Kioni is picturesque with cubic white washed houses set in a horshoe around the bay. A thriving tourist destination and favourite stop for the many flotilla, charter yachts that sail in the Ionian.
