On holiday in January 2020 and took the 360 camera and tripod as an afterthought. So glad I did as Gran Canaria was so much greener, more scenic and photogenic than the other Canary Islands I had visited previously.

The Clear Lake Hills are located east of Newell, California & are a barren ridgeline of hills that rise over 1,000 feet above the surrounding plains.  This is the third false summit just before the true summit to the north.  Views of Clear Lake Reservoir, Double Head Mountain, & the vast juniper plains.

The castle of Monteriggioni was built by the Sienese between 1213 and 1219. It has a strategic position, atop of a hill overlooking the Cassia Road. From the castle it is possible to control the cities of the Val d’Elsa and Staggia and the armies approaching Siena.

The headline mentioning a "calm place for a rest" does not point to the graveyard a few meters away but to this nice spot in the shadow of the tree here in the old village centre. The water well offers fresh drinking water and a place to rest for a moment.
