The Bennett Juniper is the largest known juniper tree in the United States, located near Dardanelle, California. It is an impressive sight upon first glance, resembling a giant broccoli. It has a height of 78', circumference of 67', & an average crown spread of 56'. The interior two feet of the tree is rotted out, meaning the true age of the tree will never be certain, however estimates from a few sample cores point it roughly b/w 3,000-4,000 years old! In 2018, the Donnell Fire barely missed the tree by 0.8 miles. Nearby are two large junipers nicknamed "Fred and Ginger" after resembling Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers in a dancing move.
