Morning alpenglow from b/w both Canyon Creek Lakes in the Trinity Alps Wilderness near Weaverville, California.  Here the sun was starting to give an orange hue on the high serrated granite ridges.  From here it was a near 4,000' elevation gain to ascend Thompson Peak & pack out.  Both Thompson Peak & the Wedding Cake are visible in the backdrop - they look deceptively close.

This tarn is a heart-shaped lake located near Kuznetsk Alatau Nature Reserve (Russia) аt a heigh of 1600 meters above sea level. The lake surface is covered in ice up until mid-June.
