A view near the entrance to Boulevard Cave in Lava Beds National Monument near Tulelake, California.  This flat section of hardened lava is known as "The Boulevard" & lasts for about 100 feet w/ a relatively low ceiling.  Look directly below to see the original writing from J.D. Howard, who was an early explorer of most of the main caves in the park.  There are two entrances also visible giving to a nice lighting effect.

A view inside the Boxing Glove Chamber within Catacombs Cave in Lava Beds National Monument near Tulelake, California.  While magma was cooling, a rupture from a lava channel below caused a breakdown hole to form known as the Boxing Glove, secured by the metal barrier.  The lower level is accessible via the stairs.  The walls are full of lavacicles & lava ribs while smooth floors adorn this section midway within Catacombs Cave.

A visit to Melbourne is not complete if you havent climbed and see the views from the Eureka Tower - the 2nd tallest building in Australia ! One way of getting there is by the Evan Walker Bridge - a very beautiful pedestrian bridge connecting the north and south bank of Melbourne CBD over the Yarra River !
