Contest Offers Chance To Win Tickets and Travel to NY and LA for Two-Day Concert Experience with Panic! At The Disco and Cobra Starship Concerts
Through December 31, 2010, specially marked packs(1) of STRIDE gum are giving consumers the chance to win(2) a grand prize of free tickets and travel to New York and Los Angeles to see SHIFT-sponsored private concerts featuring the bands Panic! At the Disco and Cobra Starship. Consumers with packs containing the "Holy Shift, You're a winner!" instant-win message will be awarded one of the 100 grand prizes.
Grand prize winners and a guest will kick off their concert experience with Cobra Starship in New York City on March 21. Their exciting bicoastal adventure will conclude after a cross-country trip to a live Panic! At The Disco concert in Los Angeles on March 22.
"STRIDE, Panic! At the Disco, and Cobra Starship share a connection within their fan base, and this bicoastal, private concert event offers an unexpected and exciting edge that's unique to STRIDE," said Gary Osifchin, Marketing Director, STRIDE. "This dual concert experience also represents the Stride SHIFT unique flavor changing technology, and is exemplified through different yet equally thrilling bicoastal concerts."
Cobra Starship is an American pop punk/synthpop band from New York City. The four member band pairs dance breakdowns with cool beats and debuted their first album in 2006. Their third album, Hot Mess, was released in 2009.
"We thought the Stride SHIFT show was cool because it's not something you get an opportunity to do all the time and our fans would get to see us in a unique setting," said Ryland Blackinton, guitarist/keyboard player of Cobra Starship. "Plus, I think all the Stride commercials are funny and it's nice to work with people who have a good sense of humor."
Panic! At the Disco is an alternative rock/baroque pop band from Las Vegas, Nevada. Their debut album shot to lucky number 13 on the charts selling more than 2.2 million copies worldwide. The band's latest album, Pretty Odd, debuted at number two. "We've always tried to do things people don't expect with our music and live show, just like Stride SHIFT is a changing and evolving gum," said Brendon Urie, Panic's vocalist. "Plus any opportunity to interact with our fans is always fun, so it'll be cool to hang with them as part of such a unique promotion."
In addition to participating in this concert experience, Panic! At the Disco also will be interacting with fans via the Stride SHIFT Concert tab, found at http://www.facebook.com/stride-gum. The band will be answering a few select questions via video reply weekly starting after Thanksgiving. To view the Stride SHIFT Concert tab, users can visit STRIDE's Facebook page and click "like".
To qualify for the grand prizes, winners must claim their prize and meet certain rules and regulations detailed at http://www.stridegum.com/concert/rules. Packs of gum that contain the phrase "Sorry! Shift happens" or is blank or contains any other messaging are not winners.

First time I heard Jane’s Addiction, I thought "what was that?" "Teenagers" by My Chemical romance - that’s a great record right there. [...]
