A finely chased silver carafe made for export to the Western market. The lid hinges back to open. There are finely chased scrolls, flowers and leaves and an applied handle. There are two finely chased areas on each side of the body with a chased elephant tackling a lion. The second side shows the lion defeated. Very well constructed and in excellent condition. Unmarked.

Very unusual Gorham sterling silver apple with hinged lid and textured surface. Applied leaf decoration. The lid fits together with the base with a jagged irregular seam as if the apple had been peeled open. Dated 1883 with the Gorham date letter P.

Überwiegend Putten- und Blüten-Dekor in Landschafts- und Architekturstaffage. Auf dem Deckel Reliefbild musizierender Putten. Äußerst repräsentativ.

A rare Gorham tea caddy with a special sample hallmarked number on the base manufactured in 1893, the year of the Columbian Exposition in Chicago. The body is chased with cherubs and flowers and the finial is an applied cherub head. The interior is gold washed. The chasing and style is similar to the Martele series manufactured by Gorham. In addition to the chasing there is a layer of hand engraving on the surface giving the decoration an additional dimension.

A large important hand chased tea caddy by the Stieff Company of Baltimore Md chased with multiple flowers in a repousse pattern. This imposing tea caddy has a hinged lid with a morning glory finial. The base has an applied beaded border. Marked BSC which stands for the Baltimore Sterling Silver Company and bearing the Stieff crown. Circa 1895.

A sterling silver and applied copper and silver tea caddy by Whiting and dated 1880. The lid and bottom half have a basket weave pattern and the bottom rim and top
section of the bowl are spot hammered. Applied flowers and leaves in copper and silver on one side.
