Box Office: Thanksgiving Eve Sparks Worry as Disney Animation’s ‘Strange World’ and Other New Movies Fight for Scraps https://t.co/yjzQ4TnT65

Thanksgiving Weekend is already off to a poor start at the box office as several new wide releases are floundering against Wakanda. All except one.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has and will continue staying on top, grossing $10 million yesterday and looking towards a $55-$60 million 5-day.
Strange World debuted in 4,174 theaters for $4.2 million opening and is looking at a poor showing of $24-26 million 5-day. Not the worst Thanksgiving opening for a Disney animated (Treasure Planet), but close enough. The film also received a B Cinemascore, so not even word of mouth might save this.
Meanwhile
Glass Onion's One-Week-Only Release is off to a killer start -- while not having any official numbers from Netflix -- with a reported $2 million from 638 theaters, and estimates clock that it could get anywhere from $8-12 million for the 5-day, which would give it an excellent 3rd place finish. OP thinks Netflix should expand and and keep this in theaters until its X-Mas streaming debut.
Devotion debuted in 3,405 theaters for a $1.8 million opening and an estimated $10 million 5-day.
More to come Sunday!
